I’ve opened the door….be nice though!

haha, i just enabled a rating and commenting system for my blog so you can give me a little more feedback on images and posts as well as comments from others.  It’s super easy just click the post to open it (you won’t see the rating stars or the comment button at the top unless you open the post) then use the comment button at the top of the post or rating stars to rate a post or comment.  Then it will be posted for all to see.  I hope you enjoy these new features and will use them when you get a chance.  My only request is to ask that you be nice to each other when commenting, but be honest as well because we all should get along!  :)

fireworks from the jetty

Some of my first firework shots taken on obviously the Fourth of July in Ocean City from the 7th Street jetty.  Funny thing was that the fireworks were supposed to be shot from off the 9th street beach but for some reason they were at 7th street.  Don’t know but realized I was way too close once I got set up.  I got a couple good ones anyway, hope you like them.  That’s all for now.

back from the dead

Hey everyone, wow, it’s been a while since I’ve updated this blog. I hope your summer is a little more relaxing then my has been so far this year.

My excuse for not updating is I’ve been ridiculously busy with life and my other job and have had no time to breathe let alone keep this current.  I’m going to try to stay on top of this and get out more often with my gear to get the shots that are the release from all the stresses of life.

I will post some stuff from the last couple months to show you some of what I’ve been doing.  I’m also going to install a ratings system on the blog so you can rate the images and posts as well as the comments.  Well, off to get this blog back in the right century.

Mom’s Day down the stretch

This mothers day I took my wife, kids and my mom to the Monmouth Park Racetrack.  I know; I hear you all saying “what kind of Mother’s Day trip is that?”.  But to be honest, it was a super day.  The weather was beautiful, the track was buzzing and we all had a wonderful day.  My oldest loved it and she actually won the most races out of all of us.  More than that it was about spending the day with my mom and wife on their special day.

Here are a couple shots I took while teaching my kids about the track:

I just found this video and thought I would share it, it is by Taylor Swift and talks about her relationship with her mother.  I spent some time today thinking about these special kind of moments with my mom, hope you will too.  So, happy Mother’s Day to all of you mom’s out there and enjoy the video.  Make sure you have some tissues close by!

Tidal Wave 20th Anniversary

My friend Scott asked me to come out on Saturday night at Flanders Hotel in Ocean City, NJ to help celebrate their 20th anniversary.  Me and the wife were in… yummy food, great music and benefit for a great cause.  You don’t have to ask me twice…did I mention I like food…..   Well, the band cranked it up with almost 400 people in attendance for a completely awesome party.    I think they heard us in Atlantic City since they were so hyped up and rockin out.  Great food (Flanders) and service, cool door prizes, Kevin from Ocean Air Art doing fun tattoos (boy did he have fun…you’ll see what I mean when you get to the bottom of the pics.

I also got to meet Michael Bonkowski who is another photog.  I love talking with other photogs just to see what they are doing and bounce ideas off each other.  Mike was super nice and was there to take some shots as well.  If you need any sports photography and your in the Marlton, NJ area, he has great stuff.  Check him out at MBPics.com

In addition to be just a plain all out party fest, it was an awesome benefit as well for The Quintin Foundation which works to raise money for the fight against cancer.  Great job everybody and wow I didn’t realize how tired I was till me and the wife got home afterward.  Check out the pics and I hope you like them.  Check out Tidal Wave’s web site as well as The Quintin Foundation site too.

well that’s about it for now, I’m off to do some more blogging so hopefully I’ll be able to get those up tonight.

Bah Humbug!

I spent my whole childhood watching my mom and dad go to anything and everything that I ever did as a kid.  They were always in the front row whether I was sitting on the bench or making the unassisted triple play (yes, I actually did that in little league).  My mom and dad are the best and I hope I am and continue to become as good as they were in the parenting department.  All that to say that my mom was in her church’s Christmas play this year and they did Scrooge and Christmas Carols.  She had a small part and was so nervous it was kinda funny but wonderful at the same time.  She loves her church, Seaville United Methodist Church, and is very active in it even though it is a small rural church.  Here are some pics from the performance.  The room was small, the light was uneven, and I couldn’t move around but I still think they came out pretty good.

music to my ears

Here are some OCHS band/football shots from a couple games I went to this year.  My daughter is in the band as well and loves it. Oh to be young again and at some high school football games…it was weird going back to my old high school and going to a game.  I never really got into football games back when I was in school but this was really different.  I tended to notice everything that night.  I guess age does tune you in a little more or sometimes, tune you out….thankfully.

Here’s the shots anyway, enjoy!

Inspecter Clouseau

Hey everyone,

I’m finally getting around to putting these pics up from my daughters high school play, The Pink Panther Strikes Again.  I forgot how funny it really was.  Ocean City High School Drama Guild does a great job putting on their drama presentations every year and this was one did not dissappoint.  Fun, great acting, great production, and having your kid in it doesn’t hurt either.  :)   Any way here are some shots from the two performances a couple of Saturdays ago.

how long is your tongue?

this dog must have the longest tongue in the world and she loves to use it!  If you let her stick her tongue in your ear you may get a brain wash….  she sure is a cutie and sweet dog.  The family was invited to go out on our friends boat and watch the sunset and have dinner on the sandbar.  No, the sandbar is not a bar but an actual sandbar.  What a fun, relaxing time with the family and friends…the dog was the queen of the night.  these two are my favs of the night.
